So do private insurance companies, social media, and countless other source. They are designed to fool the gullible. It really doesn't have anything to do with Medicare, since they are targeting YOU.

The "fee for service" and profit motives in medicine has led to corruption. As a physician, I think we should all be on salaries rather than in a fee for service system. Most would brand me a "socialist" or something, but I am actually a conservative. Thirty years of practice has led me to this conclusion, which is shared by many other physicians in my age group.
As a physician why would want to dicate how your peers are paid or take away "profit"? Are you a socialist?
Remove the govt and everyones tax dollars from healthcare as people spending their own money will always do so wiser than politicians and bureaucrats spending it for them.

It would also lift a large financial burden off the shoulders of employers. The burden would be shifted on the shoulders of the taxpayer, and then the question would be if they would pay more in new taxes compared to what they pay now in premiums and deductibles.

By removing the government, you would also remove the standards. Who would mandate that the person treating you is even a doctor? Dentists operating from their garage..... Going to a doctor would be like going to a car mechanic, who gives you the run-around where you end up purchasing all kinds of parts and services you don't need. If you think its bad now, you have no idea how bad it would get when you remove all oversight.

I'm for Universal Health Care for those who opt into it. Here's the conditions: Companies who choose to have their employees in Univ Health Care pay 80% tax rates instead of 0% that they currently pay. Their employees pay 70% taxes instead of 30%.

We have an opt out option where we can choose to the private competitive market as our insurer/provider. In this situation, if opted out, you pay regular tax rates.

The rest of America pays a higher consumption tax on health risks, like tobacco and fast food.

We eliminate Medicade and Medicare to help pay for the program.

Well, duh, when profits get obscenely high, so much that it denies medical coverage and is the leading cause of bankruptcies, that should be a clue the entire system is broken.

You hit the nail on the head. They seem to want to do to the good old days when we had waifs on the street and people on crutches begging on every street corner.

System is broken, Ill grant you that. Where we will differ is the how and why. I say govt meddling in every aspect has resulted in shortages, lack of competition, protectionism, rent seeking, collusion, racketeering, etc.
You'll say we the same govt that caused, allowed, enabled the aforementioned, should be applied in an even greater capacity to correct the ills.
I say you are a dreamer
