A consigiliere is a highly sought and respected position. Barr should be proud.

That's the most hilarious part. Most career criminals actually consider ways to cover up their crimes without directly implicating themselves. Nope, not Trump. He does the exact opposite, the buffoon that he is.

The Representative from Hawaii didn't like the word "spying" ....

So AG Barr clarified -- "Unauthorized Surveillance".

Turns out that US LAW says it's illegal to have Unauthorized Surveillance on US Citizens.
A Court of some sort must approve the Surveillance and "Authorize" it.

It's a Felony to not get the Authorization.

It's true that "we already know that Obama's DOJ and FBI conducted surveillance on an Opposing Political Campaign ..... the real question is ...... Why is this OK to the Left?

Would it be OK with the Left if Biden was running for President in 2020 against President Trump and Trump ordered up an unauthorized 2 step Surveillance on Biden. 2 step means that anyone that Biden might interact with, means that person and every other person they interact with is "surveilled".

They do that stuff in Countries like Iran, Russia, North Korea and China -- it's illegal in the USA and I would hope we all thing it should be illegal.

What ever happened with either Party ..... we have to know the truth and make sure it doesn't happen again.

He never will, because he can't. He knew it was BS when he said it, and the only reason he said it was to try to change the subject from Trump and the Mueller report. It must be really bad for Trump if he has the AG out spreading conspiracy theories to deflect from it.

Barr should know better than to aggravate the FBI, but apparently he's not that smart.

And when you find out that Barr accurately summarized the Mueller report, what are you going to advocate next in an effort to get Trump out?

The FISA Warrants against Trump prove it. It's old news.

I think it's pretty clear that AG Barr never intended to say anything about Spygate today. Shaheen asked him about the morning news reports in the NY Times and Bloomberg and he replied. She then asked him "you don't think there was spying, do you?" and he replied YES, he did think there was spying. Later Dem Reps tried to ask him to say more about it and he wouldn't - he changed "spying" to "unauthorized surveillance" and he carefully used the word "basis" for him to look into it.

It's worth while for everyone to find the clips and watch them -- as usual, I watched the entire hearing.
There isn't going to be a "new investigation" -- the House and Senate Judiciary Committee has "investigated", the House and Senate Intelligence Committee has "investigated", the House Oversight Committee has "investigated" and the Select Committee on Intelligence has "investigated".

A variety of reporters (rare breed these days) have "investigated and published what they learned. At least 2 IG Teams have and are "investigating". At least a couple of US Attorneys have been "investigating" ...... and then there is the Special Counsel with his 500 Interviews, 1.000's of subpoenas, 40 FBI Investigators and 19 Attorneys. There is also a TON of material that most of those "investigators" had no access to or was heavily redacted. AG Barr has access to every page and none of it redacted. Bottom line -- he has all the information, now he just needs to (in his own words) "get my arms around it".

AG Barr will have a Team that he will be heavily involved in to correlate all the "investigations" and all the Paperwork and Judicial orders ..... and see what's what.

It's pretty clear he has already seen enough so that he answered Ms Shaheen's question honestly ....
Yes, I do believe the President of the United States was spied on (unauthorized surveillance).

I actually don't think this will drag out very long -- he wants to get the Mueller Report out there and get that settled and then he will figure out the rest. He has all the information, he just needs to put it all together.

Let's have the rest of the quote.

Yes, I do believe the President of the United States was spied on ... but I'm not suggesting it wasn't adequately predicated."

Suggesting the Trump campaign was spied on and it was done with probable cause. Which implies the FISA warrants were legitimate, the Dossier wasn't completely false, and that there must have been collusion-ish interactions going on with Russia in order to justify the not improper spying.
