She does sound entitled, but I can kind of empathize. She wanted to make a living in certain ways, but unfortunately the vast majority of humans (in industrialized nations) are more or less condemned to spend the majority of life as cubicle fixtures giving their entire lives just to make a handful of strangers richer.

And then we die.

It's a bit of a bleak prospect considering how humans have incredible potential to do more with their lives than that.

No 5 year old announces to their parents that they want to be a CPA or a product manager when they grow up.

It's. NOT. work!

Taking photos of yourself is not work.

Making videos of yourself talking is not work.

Making videos of yourself playing video games is not work.

Editing videos, in the context of "typical YouTuber" is not work.

She only has 100,000 something followers. That isn't that many. That in by no means is "viral" like the news always tries to pretend. They think that if something gets 3000 hits it "went viral". No, it didn't.

She's done nothing that anyone would call actual work.

There's 2 ways for her to make money:

Beg for it. "Support my Patreon!"

Have sponsors. If she has sponsors, THEY do all the work, not her.

Yes, you can make some ridiculously easy money on the internet, but the problem is, it can be there one second, completely gone the next second. I don't feel sorry for any of those who go through that because most of them aren't smart. They don't even think about it's not going to last. They don't save that money. Instead, they live the most luxurious life that they can, make videos about it, post photos about it, brag about it...and then one day - they're not so popular anymore, and it all dries up. Because they didn't save or invest. (Unless their name is Jeffree Star - he did it right.)

So, once she's done crying for donations with her sob story, she can either get a "real" job, as people call it, or she learn to think, learn to find a solution, learn to be creative, learn to come up with something new. Right now, all she's doing is whining. Whining for money is only going to work for so long.
Work is work regaress of your personal definition. To get to where she was she had to put in some.. um.. work..

But your right in that everyone should have a backup plan.

Probably so. My sample size, which is large, runs from those in their mid-late 20s back to teenagers.

Sociologically, we will also see more and more unmarried young people. Women generally don't marry men at a lower station in life. This is already happening where better-educated women say they can't find men. It's because more and more young men are in the boat I describe above.

Interesting that over 50 years later the argument really hasn't changed.

I'll give Ms. Taylor credit for having identified her greatest problem.

She brings absolutely nothing to the table. Nothing.

let me tell you something you stupid whiny entitled little brat, you STILL ARE a loser. you went to college, but obviously didnt learn much of anything worthwhile there, you worked at mcdonalds, which in my day my parents had a word for that, opportunity. grow up little girl, stop whining, get a real job, and work hard at that job. then you can come back in about ten years and whine about your life if you want with more compassion from people. and i get that you dont want to be a stripper, its not for everyone. but you have to EARN your way through life, you cant just coast along.

yep.
This girl certainly does not represent her generation. She’s just a girl with a lot of issues and I hope she keeps her social media gig.

She is representative of many of them.

The whole "influencer" thing is something I find it hard to wrap my mind around. Who do these people think they're influencing?

This isn't a liberal vs conservative thing at all. You can find people of all stripes who consider YouTube their work. My son is 18 and he has a channel... he is just getting to the point where he's starting to believe us that he is not going to become a YouTube star and support himself and his future family for life. Two years ago, he was sure we were just dream-crushers. I don't know. He sees me working for myself online (I'm an SEO writer/editor) and is just starting to be able to comprehend that I'm not just "fooling around online." Kids today have different challenges in terms of reality. My generation wanted to be rock stars. Now they want to be YouTube stars. Nothing really changes.

She's still a ho, just online. She had sex with a robot on cam. So she can just do straight porn or strip on stage with a robot or something if she doesn't want to be a "loser" with a regular job. Because what she's been doing makes her such a winner.
