Oh please spare us. Cuba is a communist dictatorship. Most of the Cubans who wanted to leave could have especially during the Mariel boatlift. Jimmy Carter let them in and they Vote Republican.

The writing is on the wall and the desperation is sinking in. I find it so sad that so many (fewer and fewer luckily) are getting so upset at helping the middle and lower classes out as opposed exclusively the upper class.

What I find the most odd is that many complaining have been hurt by the previously policies that are nothing more than socialism for wall street.

And what "socialist" nation does not morph into a totalitarian state?

The left often uses the Nordic states as shining examples of socialism. However, they are not socialist countries- they are capitalists.

The Nordic nations have been successful due to their previous complete lack of "diversity", strong work ethic, and highly educated citizens. The Danes, Norwegians, Swedes, and Finns are successful because of who they are. Transplant the capitalistic system they have with very high taxes anywhere else and it would (and has) failed.

Look at the failures of socialism/communism:

Cuba, Nicaraugua, Venezuala, Czechloslovokia, Bulgaria, Romania, Yugoslovia, East Germany, Poland, Hungary, Estonia, Latvia, USSR, Albania, North Korea, Cambodia, Vietnam.

China has only become successful with the introduction of capitalism.

Wake up- if a system is so "tricky" that it fails in 99% of the cases, perhaps it is too "volatile" of a political system to be practical.

When have people ever fled and tried to get INTO a Communist nation?

Exactly. But many forget that the rise of socialism in a country are driven by a big economic divide. When the have nots feel that there is no hope under the current system and they see the top increasing their take while middle class shrinks. This is what leads to Socialism.

Maybe we need to ask that same writer what led to the rise of Castro and communism in Cuba?

Part of the argument is a better education for our kids and people yell "SOCIALISM SOCIALISM SOCIALISM".

No country is actually a Capitalist economy. Where in Capitalism do we find the bailing out of people from their bad investments?
