Not to anyone specifically posting in this thread....but.....I like how people who would have a fit about busing are criticizing Joe Biden for being against busing.

Biden didn't have the "luxury" of being a liberal Democrat in the 70's. A position that seems like an easy vote today for a Democrat was risky in the 70's when there were liberals and conservatives in both parties.
Biden was right and Harris was wrong to accuse him of apposing "busing in America." Busing was a dismal failure for some.
Brown v the Board of Education was successful because black kids we not allowed to go neighborhood schools, the same school their white friends went to.

Trust me, this is the least of ol' Joe Sausagehead Biden's worries.

In another 6 months she'll be calling him "The White Dr. King" if he promises her a cabinet position.

Nonsense. He was elected from Delaware. If he couldn't be liberal there then it wasn't possible anywhere. . Yet LBJ from Texas of all places got the civil rights passed which Biden was against.

And he clearly sided with the crowd that did not want Black kids attending schools reserved for Whites in Wilmington.

Desegregation was a one way street, Close the black schools instead of properly funding them and blacks were sent to white neighborhoods and whites were not sent to black neighborhoods. It reinforced to black children and parents that white people were better at educating black kids.

If Trump's past didn't matter to evangelicals then Biden's past won't matter to African Americans either. The only difference is Biden's past offers up much debate as to the rightness or wrongness of what he did. Not so much with Trump. Evangelical's swallowed a camel on that one

Oh my, all so worried over something Joe Biden may have done in 1970. Yet a few years earlier Trump was racking up military deferments for a fake bone spur. In a recent interview Trump was asked about that and Trump replied, "...it was too far." For 70,000 good, brave, Americans Nam wasn't too far for them to die serving our country.

It's not really about busing. It's about wanting to keep Trump in office. Personally, there are other candidates in the Democratic primary that I would support besides Biden. I don't like him.

Same here, apparently none that are running. I'll be doing a write in vote again.
