I support balancing the budget. I'm pro-life. I support the 2nd Amendment. What makes me a "leftist"?

That I care about more than the needs of the bankers?

I don’t tithe but I do donate to victims of domestic violence.

That doesn’t make me better than anybody else in that regard.
It is a church. It's their outreach program. For the record what you do is up to you. I was just noting that yours was a vast generalization certainly not always true.

Please consider that to be a Christian you have to tithe 10 percent of your income. Catholics are OK tithing what they can. The IRS considers tithing a charitable contribution. I don’t consider tithing a charitable contribution

A lot of people do not tithe but either donate money/goods to charitable organizations or give their time.

If you’re going to single out someone for not giving to charity please ascertain their identity.

I dont remember the name, nor do I care. Read the thread.

What people give, or do for others is none of my business. Why do you police what people give, or dont give?

People feign outrage over Bernies giving, but it turns out he has participated in events where all the proceeds go directly to charity. That would not even show in tax returns.

Going forward most people wont mention charity in tax returns either, because the change in tax law makes it pointless. As a result, fewer people will give to charity.

Neither. I voted for Jill Stein. What does that have to do with what I said? Hillary and Trump were way too corrupt and unable to tell the truth.

Except he did just admit upthread that his charitable contributions, according to his tax form, were zero. That is what is meant by charitable donations. He gave nothing.

I don't know if it's young and dumb or not? I think it's more of being indoctrinated by our public school system which is coincidentally funded with taxpayer dollars. Obviously they have a self interest in promoting big government as the answer to everything as it directly affects their bottom line. They both work hand in hand.

The colleges and universities are no different, that's why they're advocates for government funded tuition for all. You'll notice that I didn't use the word's "free tuition". As it's anything but. They just can't wait to get their greedy little hands on taxpayer dollars with their insatiable demands for more money. They will do all they can to elect politicians that are all to willing to give it to them. All in the name of: "But it's for the kids". To them taxpayers are a bottomless pit ripe for the taking.

Reparations are a joke. A sick one at that. At the very least it's a scam to buy votes. Does anyone seriously believe that the government is just going to dole out money to anyone who claims to be a descendant of slavery? It's just another method for the government to raise taxes even more. More for the giant cesspool of corruption to p*ss away. Not only that but there is no one alive today that is responsible for what happened in the 18th and 19th centuries. For that matter just about everyone whether your Irish, Italian, Jewish, whatever, can claim that at one time their ancestors were victims of oppression and they should be compensated accordingly. Where does it all end? The result will be even more class warfare and resentment which is another corner stone of socialism.
