Reagan was in politics a long time before he came president.

In my view, Trump is more entertaining as a politician than he was in the Apprentice.

It's a sample size of 4--Reagan, HW Bush, W. Bush, and Trump.

To try to draw any conclusions is an affront to statistics.

And that's what is important in politics to you?

I can't think of a single "celebrity" -- do you mean like a Celebrity Wrestler or maybe a Celebrity Comedian?

Ronald Reagan was a Governor, former Union Leader and grade B actor.
Donald Trump is one of the most well known Entrepreneurs and a Businessman who entirely owns his own Business. He is larger than Life and why he has become known around the world .... a TV show was the result of that, but it was a hobby for a man nearing retirement and giving his heirs more input into the Family Business. It was "fun" for him, but nobody can really claim that Donald Trump was unknown before Celebrity Apprentice.

Obama became a celebrity. School children singing his praises, magazine pictures with halos around his head, even being said to be "sort of like God...."

Well, I guess you could say that pretty much every elected official (using your since 1980 time line) in America is a celebrity to at least some.

This is like those stupid sports stats they cite during games. "Such-and-such a kicker has a field goal completion percentage of 69% when the wind is coming in from the southeast in the 3rd quarter." It proves nothing.

LMAO Reality TV didn't "create" Donald Trump. He was well-known and established in the business world long before he was on TV.
