Liberals Tell Supreme Court How Illegal Immigration Increases Their Power
How would it lose their power, when those seats would be given to other States, mostly blue ones with less illegals. CA, TX and FL would lose. In the end of the day, it doesn't change anything.

Or you're just ignorant of the issue here.

It is not about illegals voting.

The Constitution makes it clear: Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed.

It doesn't say "citizens." It says the "whole number of persons" AND it says the only exception are untaxed Indians.

If you don't like that all persons are to be counted, legal or not, then feel free to amend the Constitution.

The Constitution is what the Supreme Court says it is in practice. It's far easier to gain a Supreme Court majority than to amend the Constitution.

The issue is the number of representatives in the U.S. House of Representatives. Nothing to do with "liberals" (or any other group) increasing their "power". How in the hell does any logical person make such a ridiculous leap?

This issue presents yet another reason why the electoral college is silly and needs to be replaced by a nationwide popular vote.

Given the current hysteria, and polarized atmosphere, surrounding the immigration issue, I imagine many of the legal non-citizen residents of the US will also think twice before filling out the census.

Ummm... I would be shocked if Texas lost anything. People have been moving here from everywhere.

Because CA sends mostly left-liberal Representatives to Washington. More CA seats=more left-liberals in congress.

Imagine for a moment that CA were to lose those 3 seats and they went to more right-leaning states. Imagine that the House became very close and those 3 seats made the difference between a Republican speaker and a Democrat Speaker, and majority. It's about maintaining those seats to keep them solidly blue. I would expect the same fight if the seats could be lost in a red state.
