Trump, not understanding even the basics of our constitution, says he will take the case to the Supreme Court, if he is impeached. That court has no jurisdiction in a presidential impeachment. If Trump could get the court, which is stacked with his conservative puppets, to side with him and he could carry out the decision, he would have become a dictator. I doubt that Chief Justice John Roberts, who is an honorable man and a supporter of our constitution, would accept the case. Trump's claim that he can invoke executive privilege, to prevent Don McGahn from testifying in the House under subpoena, is apparently at the heart of this latest confrontation.

Just the fact that Trump is making this threat, indicates that he knows his impeachment in imminent. He's essentially announcing it himself.

Well, there would be no case to accept. SCOTUS couldn't intervene even if they wanted to.

He may know impeachment is imminent but he also knows that barring any unknown items --- that the Senate will never vote to convict. So he'll slow down the process, let everyone waste their time for another year or so, and then this will be settled in 2020.

If Dems go for impeachment they can kiss their 2020 candidate goodbye. America would be far too divisive for them to get the votes they need to win the WH.

Watch the silly Dems walk right into President Trump's trap, as they inevitably always do. Trump knows the Supreme Court won't get involved in impeachment as its a non judicial issue. But he's goading them to take the bait, knowing that impeachment would backfire.

He probably thinks Kavenaugh can override the rest of SCOTUS because he picked him. Trump doesn't have a clue how anything in our government works. Everything coming out of him since the report has been bluff, bluster, BS, and contrdiction. He's running scared and knows his own ignorance is going to be his downfall.

That said - There are a lot of things that can be done which are far more insidious than impeachment, and will amount to a political version of the Death of a Thousand Cuts. Bringing all of the key players in to testify publicly before Congress will be the greatest reality show ever, and will put the facts of the report in front of literally millions of eyes that would never consider reading it, many because they fear there may be facts in it which don't support what they have been getting from their news outlets.

Schiff, Cummings, and Nadler know lots of tricks, but Nancy is the one to watch. They are all taking their cues from her, since she knows which way the winds are blowing up in the Senate chambers where Trump would be tried. She will hold them off and let them continue bleeding him dry until the time is right. Trump is done, whether he is ever impeached or not.

LOL Trump is done. That follows along the same line of thinking as:

* Trump will never run for president
* Trump will never get the nomination
* Trump will never win the election

The democrats look like they have every intention of running a hard left candidate in 2020. Election's a toss up.

The only answer you get when you ask this is that he tried to fire Mueller = obstruction.

Which is absolute nonsense.

First off, Trump had full authority as POTUS to fire Mueller if he wanted to.

Secondly, firing Mueller would not have obstructed the investigation at all, it would have went on regardless without him.

This is nothing but political over reach by the butthurt Democrat party over being betrayed by Mueller, who was supposed to be their savior.
