A federal judge in Alaska has declared that President Trump’s order revoking a sweeping ban on oil and gas drilling in the Arctic and Atlantic oceans is illegal, putting 128 million acres of federal waters off limits to energy exploration.

or maybe it has to do more with this :

“The judge’s ruling today shows that the president cannot just trample on the Constitution to do the bidding of his cronies in the fossil fuel industry at the expense of our oceans, wildlife, and climate.”

All these things are to find out how much the people will put up with and allow the authorities to get away with. The Earth is already past straining point under the weight of mankinds stupidity and greed. Do we need more fracking earthquakes?

It's difficult to believe that with all we know about how nature is being desecrated and destroyed needlessly and senselessly when there are alternate technologies and choices that someone would make a statement like this. I never imagined that there were folks who have such a disdain and lack of admiration and respect for the natural world. Greed knows no bounds.

The nation is not so desperate that we need to get our oil from the Arctic refuge. The United States is now the world’s second-largest exporter of petroleum products. If we drove 5 percent less or 5 percent slower we could save more oil than by drilling in the refuge. Destroying our wild heritage to get oil is akin to burning the heirloom furniture just because we are too lazy to close the windows.

That is the opinion of an environmentalist....unless there is a law passed by Congress specifically outlining the protection of these waters/lands it's not a Constitutional issue. Congress passes laws and they often leave them open to be implemented by the Administration, in other words they don't go into details. It appears the Obama administration imposed a rule or regulation, it's certainly within the power of the current Administration to revoke it.
