Yep...he has not only spoken it, he has tweeted as much, telegraphed it and in many ways acted upon it. He is either that dumb or that confident that there are many more with him on that page! SCARY, NO MATTER HOW YOU LOOK AT IT.

Doubling down on the absurd doesn't make it any less absurd.

That’s what the whole protest on both sides was supposed to be about — it had been going on for months —take them down or leave them up? both sides were very riled up about it, and these were not the supremacists.

I am disappointed that even FOX news hasn’t been telling it correctly.
It appears all are going off of what came out of DONALD TRUMPS MOUTH.

I agree. Which is why it is so confusing that POTUS actually does this. Make an absurd statement. Deny it. Make it again. Lie about it. Then lie about the lie. Have other people say he didn't mean it. Have others spin it and explain it away for him. Then tweet or say the same thing as initially. AND on insignificant matters to matters of large import such as foreign policy.

Why does anyone not think this is absurd and frightening to have our president act like this? You appear to be a person of science who practices the art of medicine. What is wrong with Trump and why do you find it acceptable to have a person like this in such a position of power? Why does anyone double down on defending and supporting a man who is clearly a master of the absurd?

I thought so. The Dems seem to be running as the post-truth party, appealing to folks who think all lies are white lies if they further the narrative.

Liberals brains don’t work that way. They can only understand 2 sides of any issue. You are either with them or against them.

White vs black
Gay vs straight
R vs D
Liberals vs conservatives
Jews vs world

Victim vs oppressior is all they see.

You are correct there were multiple groups at that event.

We all know which side was the instigator in Charlottesville. You thought America would embrace the pulling-down of historic statues in order to placate the butt-hurt. It hasn't worked.
You were sure your compliant media would reinforce this false narrative. It hasn't worked.

America put President Trump in office to create havoc with those like you. The strategy is working perfectly. You just don't know how to handle defeat.

Another term for President Trump should set you straight.

One of those sides being white supremacists.

Take it up with Trump. They are his words.

"Why are you reviving this year old story?"

Because MANY on the left and on here CONSTANTLY cite Charlottesville as PROOF Trump is RACIST.
try to keep up!

Why not end the 150-year-old propaganda campaign?

"Lee’s elevation is a key part of a 150-year-old propaganda campaign designed to erase slavery as the cause of the war and whitewash the Confederate cause as a noble one. That ideology is known as the Lost Cause, and as historian David Blight writes, it provided a “foundation on which Southerners built the Jim Crow system.”"

The Myth of the Kindly General Lee

The legend of the Confederate leader’s heroism and decency is based in the fiction of a person who never existed.

Quote:
The white supremacists who have protested on Lee’s behalf are not betraying his legacy. In fact, they have every reason to admire him. Lee, whose devotion to white supremacy outshone his loyalty to his country, is the embodiment of everything they stand for. Tribe and race over country is the core of white nationalism, and racists can embrace Lee in good conscience.

The question is why anyone else would.

Again CNN announced that Trump was not referring to the white supremacists as fine people.
What part of this do you Dems not understand????

Tapper’s admission is a major concession by CNN, which has refused thus far to correct or retract its repeated claims in recent weeks that Trump was, in fact, referring to the neo-Nazis as “very fine people.” The network even aired deceptively edited video of Trump’s remarks to create the impression that he said something that he had not.
