$60,000 will pay for quite a few outdoor porta johns for that posh liberal neighborhood when they get that homeless shelter. Problem solved, compromise is the key.

At least he's been honest about it. Dems, not so much. Just like they acted like a bunch of wet cats when Trump said send illegal aliens to sanctuary cities.

People shouldn't give anything to the homeless. Your taxes pay for their food stamps and subsidized housing. If they can't get on welfare, then if people would stop handing them stuff, then they would get the picture that they better straighten up and find a job. If they are mentally insane, then they better find out how to get treatment for it. Free medical care is offered for the indigent when they have cancer. What about the mentally insane, who are indigent?

Judge Rules Controversial Homeless Shelter Near Billionaires Row Can Open

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – New York City has been given the green light to open a homeless shelter a block from Billionaires Row in Manhattan.

A judge approved the opening Monday, despite community protests.

The planned shelter is located at the former Park Savoy Hotel on 58th Street near Seventh Avenue.

I think seeing homeless people on a day to day basis is a humbling experience that really makes you appreciate what you have. Is there too many to help out? yes ofcourse. But a little goes a long way. What if the one guy you just fed, has the energy to find a job now. and then he comes back to the homeless people he knew, and feeds them. Let that sink in. It's a process of life. People need to be more generous with their money and have sympathy for the less fortunate. If money is your issue, then sympathy and welcoming them is the least you can do.

This country has spent $TRILIONS on the War On Poverty and even more $TRILLIONS on the War On Drugs (war on peoples' choice) and have absolutely NOTHING to show for it. If a shelter is built to house 200 homeless, 20,000 more will move into the area to get their FREE stuff.

It's one thing for individuals to put their money where their mouth is. It is something completely different to use the force of government to steal from hard working earners to pay for these utopian ideals.

But then again, that's just MY opinion, for what it's worth.

I thought those guys love helping the poor. Oh, wait. That’s only when it’s someone else’s problem.

I guess the wealthy residents prefer the homeless to live on the streets and alleys of their town.
