I don't do polls, but this totally surprises me coming from CNN.

Now the headline says nothing about my thread title.

CNN Poll: With Mueller investigation over, Trump approval at 43%

Now regarding the headline, CNN noted "that approval figure is the highest -- by one point -- since a CNN poll completed around the 100-day mark of his time in office."

So this is a high water mark with regards to CNN polls... at least since April 2017.

Then this, way at the bottom of the article...

In one point of partisan agreement over Mueller's work, 69% think Congress ought to investigate the origins of the Justice Department's inquiry into Russian interference in the 2016 election, including 76% of Democrats, 69% of independents and 62% of Republicans.

WTH ?? 76% of Democrats??

Do they know how much money they could make if they were actually even handed and covered this?

So you’re saying that Democrats and Independents like transparency, while the current iteration of Republicans only like transparency when politically expedient? Interesting.

I would say most Democrat voters are not understanding what that involves. They still think it was Trump who colluded with the Russians because that's what their politicians say. It would be like saying 75% of Democrats think the media is fake...but only Fox.

My guess is, rank-and-file Democrats (normal people who habitually vote Democrat) have finally had it up to here with the hatred and insanity displayed by their Democrat leaders for the last several years, and no longer support them.

These people are far more shocked and surprised by what their leaders have turned into, than conservatives who have seen it coming for a decade or more and aren't particularly surprised now.

Maybe, 76% of Democrats think that the Republicans were behind the Trump investigation

Surprise that polls are only relevant when they fit the narrative. 43% is low for a president with a stable economy even if it's an "all time" high for him. 35% approve of handling his "job".

Trump's approval rating remains largely negative in the new poll -- 52% disapprove and 43% approve -- but that approval figure is the highest -- by one point -- since a CNN poll completed around the 100-day mark of his time in office. At the same time, the share who say they strongly approve of the way the President is handling his job (35%) is at its highest level ever in CNN's polling.

A design effect of 1.5, if I recall correctly means the respondents were not random.

I too want an investigation into the origins of Russiagate.

Of course, I also have an idea of where that Rabbit Hole will end, so the Establishment Dems will never push for it.
