Do you care as much for human immigrant children, human poor children, etc.?
They're embryos, not developed in most cases. That being said, I'm not a proponent of late term abortions. I think if a woman gets an abortion it should be as soon as she finds out she's pregnant.
If a woman is forced to carry her rapist's baby, is she going to be forced to pay the ~$10,000 worth of pre-natal care, too? And if giving birth to a baby is going to kill the mother, but she can't do anything about it, how is that pro-life?
Evangelical leader Pat Robertson has declared Alabama’s new abortion ban, which prevents the procedure outright in nearly all cases, “an extreme law”.
“I think Alabama has gone too far, they’ve passed a law that would give a 99-year prison sentence to those who commit abortions,” Mr Robertson said during an episode of his long-running Christian television show, The 700 Club.
“There’s no exception for rape or incest,” he continued. “It’s an extreme law and they want to challenge Roe v Wade, but my humble view is that this is not the case we want to bring to the Supreme Court because I think this one’ll lose.”
I know that it is really ticking the pro-abortion crowd off that a female governor signed the legislation into law
No, the ignorance under which she signed the bill is what ticked me off. Abortion is still legal in AL, thankfully, despite the ignorant attempts to subvert it.
If I was of child-bearing age, and assuming that those laws come into effect, I would be sure not to even visit any of those states, simply because you never know. What if I had no idea that I was pregnant and had a miscarriage? If I went for medical help to make sure nothing was left, would I be accused of an causing an abortion? Would any doctor doing a D & C be accused of preforming an abortion? We know that right now there are woman in various places around the world who are imprisoned because they had a spontaneous miscarriage that was called an abortion. What about the case of a "missed abortion," which is a case in which the fetus spontaneously dies, but the body doesn't expel it. If you have a D & C to remove the dead tissue, does the law consider that to be an abortion?
This whole thing just seems barbaric to me. Women become the property of the state, and their child bearing is controlled by the state. Are we going to have forced sterilization of "undesirable" women next? I would not to consent to live or even set foot in such a state.

I care about the declining birth rate. I care about the impact of abortion on the US population.
How much will Alabamans like the increased taxes that they will have to pay for the increased amount of welfare, food stamp, Medicare, and educational spending that will follow as a result of this law?
