Disgusting how low politicians will go. They should be ashamed of themselves for politicizing a vigil. These politicians are supposed to be serving the people, not working to disarm law abiding citizens. If they would do their job properly, these shootings would occur far less frequently.

This is terrible, no shame. It just happened, the community is still in shock and political opportunists jumped on it. NO shame.

The students were practicing their First Amendment right to free speech.

Students storm out of Colorado school shooting vigil in protest of politicians

Survivors of a Colorado school shooting walked out of a vigil for their slain classmate Wednesday night in protest of politicians and other groups using it as a platform for gun control, a local report said.

The students from STEM High School, where two gunmen killed a student and wounded eight others Tuesday, began yelling from the stands that they “wanted to be heard” after two politicians and pro-gun control advocates addressed the crowd, according to the local NBC affiliate, KUSA.

They then stormed out of the vigil after Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet and Democratic Congressman Jason Crow addressed the crowd, the Denver Post reported.

They are overplaying their hand as usual.
Gun right vs control has no place at a vigil, like this.

Having said this, the vigil was organized by Team Enough, the student branch of the Brady Campaign, a gun control group.

I’m glad the students walked out.
According to the OP’s link, the vigil was organized by Team Enough, the student branch of the Brady Campaign, a national gun control group.

“ do their job properly” is a subjective statement.

Very disrespectful to put forth an agenda, when you should be celebrating the life of the kid who died. Politicians are blood suckers, no doubt.

I was involved in a similar "vigil" that occurred after the Pittsburgh synagogue massacre of October 2018. Our synagogue as well as other area synagogues of all denominations announced a "vigil" the day after the horrific Squirrel Hill massacre by an anti-Semite. Small portions of the event were appropriate. Elected politicians such as Congressman Elliot Engel (sp), and local mayors, as well as Rabbis began speechifying about gun violence and Donald Trump's alleged poisoning of just about everything. I wanted a reflective memorial the day after the Jewish community was subjected to yet another assault. I did not get what I came for.

The event did not feature a walkout. The only reason I didn't was the impossibility of squeezing through the massed crowds. I discussed the matter with one of the rabbis at my synagogue after what amounted to a rally. Let's just say we kept the discussion civil, but barely.

Many, if not most of the most vocal gun control advocates care nothing about the victims and only want to push their agenda and to bash those that disagree with them.
