Grew up on a 40 acre farm in the 50's......never had a thought about safety back then. Gun racks all over at school and everywhere. Crooks and gang bangers would have had real short life spans back in the day.......
Most schools where I live also have industrial arts labs. you could easily cut a hand off or slit your wrist on a tables saw but if used properly accidents are rare.
