Again, the 99,5 percent has to cater to the extreme minority......a little tired of this bs.

I guess it's the new "War on Christmas" that the right keeps threatening is coming. But Christmas comes every single year. Man, and they call US snowflakes?

I don't recall celebrating mothers day or fathers day at school, indeed both are on a Sunday and have nothing to do with schools or teachers.

That kid may be sad on Mother's Day because he doesn't have one but that is hardly a reason to deny the rest of the kids being able to acknowledge their mothers. Your line of thinking would not allow for any celebration ever of any kind because there is always going to be someone for whom it doesn't apply.

So what?

Both are just made up holidays designed to sell greeting cards, etc.

If people need one of these holidays to recognize that they have parental units, it’s a sad world indeed.

The purpose of the original holiday was to honor mothers, not to sell cards. The card companies did take over and cash in. However, many families made their own cards and many still do.

She wanted it to be a way to celebrate mothers but it became a commercialized thing. I can see why she got disgusted with it? Do I agree with that stance that she had of later despising it? I don't know.

Good riddance! Mother's Day (and Father's Christmas and all the others that involve gift giving and spending) are just schemes of the retailers and the wealthy to take more money from our pockets and put it into theirs.

Well this is really going to ruin your day.

In Australia, HD bikes are built by Hillary-Davidson.

Just kidding.

Um, who's stopping kids from acknowledging their mothers???????

I have news for you. You can acknowledge your mother anytime you darn well please, no need to wait to do it once a year. I'm sorry this has somehow escaped you, I hope you feel released from the tyranny of only being allowed to acknowledge your mother on a specific day every year.
