Exactly, which is why it was a silly counter productive move.
The original vision is shocking enough and serves to highlight her issues. In fact I think the original undoctored is actually worse than the obvious altered tape.
It's not a hard decision. The single video feed was all there was. Everyone who used it unaltered had the same length of time measured on the video.
The altered video was slowed down to 75% of actual speed which dropped Pelosi's voice pitch down into a deep baritone. But pitch correction raised the pitch enough to purt her voice back into its normal range.
But the 75% speed could not change the length of time the video was slowed down. The altered video is almost 10 seconds longer, and can be measured quite accurately. That's how it was discovered to be only 75% of normal speed.
Granted, this is all stuff the average viewer wouldn't notice or even suspect. But the deception was so simple, it was very easy to catch by anyone who works with videos.
A real professional knows how to close edit such a time stretch down to the split-second, but its a job that has to be done extremely well to go un-noticed. That's why I suspect an amateur did the phony.
I don't blame the viewers who swallowed the phony. The boneheads at Fox either were too sloppy in their verification or they just didn't care if they broadcast the truth or not.
Decide that one for yourself.
