If he tripped an fell off the boat and drowned trying to rescue a wild animal we would say he was dumb not passionate. I think we should be allowed to dispatch any wild animal that invades our personal space like a; house , car, boat, tent,or hammock, etc.

Clearly Mr Raccoon was involved in mutinous behavior at sea and should have been thrown overboard. Maritime law or something like that.

[quote=Originalist;55198701]He basically killed an animal that would have left him alone.

You sure? Scared silly in an alien environment

I have wild raccoons here and they make noise but they will not attack unless provoked. I was actually able to feed one from my hand, but then she fell in love with me and would nip at my heels for treats.

Bad move. You NEVER make contact with ANY wild animal.

This guy should have headed back to shore and let rocky get off the boat.[/quot

The cartoon Rocky was a flying squirrel.

Rocky Raccoon checked into his room
Only to find Gideon's Bible
Rocky had come, equipped with a gun
To shoot off the legs of his rival

A friend of mine found an abandoned Bobcat kitten and took it in. It imprinted on him and he raised it as a pet. He still has it.

Yea, head back to shore and release it, like any other non-psychotic person would do.

It is. However, there is no actual proof he was 20 miles out. He claimed to be in his apology statement.

If you were stuck on a boat 20 miles out to sea with an angry raccoon would you throw it overboard?

If the sucker wanted to bite me, hell yes.

Yes, they are. A kid I went to school with had a Coon, that tore his dad's ear off when they were taking it to the vet.
