This man served 3 years in prison and has to register as a sex offender because he did not disclose that he had HIV to two women he slept with. (Neither woman contracted HIV from him, fortunately.) He says it is unfair and there shouldn't be a law keep HIV a secret with sex partners, and that he shouldn't be required to register as a sex offender.
The Push to End Punishment Fever against People with HIV:
Thats basically what he's arguing but many people oppose these laws because they say the laws unfairly target the gay community.
Pretty twisted logic considering that it ravaged the gay community and killed so many.
Likely younger gays that lack the life experience of having a half a dozen people they know die a wasting death from the disease.
So, boo hoo, they don't want to disclose then let them cry about it from jail and the same should apply to people that know they have Hep C and other such diseases.

Agreed. Callous disregard for the health and safety of another should be unlawful.
To me it is bodily injury caused by negligence or whatever the legal term is.
Why would someone be together with someone whom obviously they don't like at all. Any decent spouse would rather kill himself or herself than risk causing his or her spouse's death.
That's the problem with many people today, they are all about egoism and not capable of really loving someone else.
I don't think it has to do with being gay, though. Recently they said in a report that - at least here in Portugal - most people infected with HIV are heterosexuals. Some were infected at birth for instance.
One big problem is that due to the long dormant stage of AIDS many infected people don't even know they are infected, so obviously they can't tell their loved ones.
The burden of proof that a person intentionally did this is high however, yes it should be treated as attempted murder in the case of HIV or Ebola and, felony assault for non-fatal diseases.
However unlike armed robbery, or a direct physical assault, which are generally highly visible and easy to prove with video evidence or witnesses, intentional STD transmission is exceedingly difficult to prove. There is too much potential for "he said she said" abuse.
Intentional transmission is probably extremely rare (more or less limited to psychopaths and the like), unlike negligent transmission.
