Georgia is always getting boycotted, or threats of being boycotted, by various entities including movie stars who apparently are in favor of the murder of innocent unborn babies.

If a child has been raped and becomes pregnant; if a woman in her last trimester has an ultrasound and the fetus is diagnosed as profoundly abnormal and if carried to term the infant will suffer terribly before an early death, if a woman is destitute and can't afford to feed or care for the children she currently has....and the state doesnt provide food assistance, day care, standard education, housing, medical care....there are many reasons (and they are none of our business) why a woman would choose to terminate a pregnancy. Being in favor of murder has nothing to do with it. Pro-life should mean pro-women and children...not some sordid mission to punish women.

Alabama is 50th in the amount it spends for public education....dead last; Alabama didnt opt to expand medicaid to assist working families who cant afford medical care. Alabama doesnt show any regard for living children....the anti abortion bill has nothing to do with being Pro-Life. It is mean spirited attempt to punish women. How many of the white men who voted for it....owe their successful lives to a 16 year old girl who chose to have an abortion rather than saddle him with child support forcing him to drop out of high school. If the truth be known....most families have members who either had an abortion or who convinced someone else to abort the pregnancy they caused. That doesnt make them bad people.....but it makes them hypocrites if they vote to force other women to risk their lives through an illegal abortion. The law won't stop abortions.....it will stop safe abortions.

I'm not in favor of these restrictive abortion laws, but Austin itself (as the capital of a state under full Republican control) could very well be a location where similar legislation is passed in the future. Alabama is going the furthest but many other states are moving in the same direction, and deciding where to draw the line on boycotts is arbitrary and does nothing to help the female population in that state or others.

And they used to be such good friends. Went to their first dance together, played catch when they were kids. Shared the good times and bad as they grew up. Such a sad thing...Did they actually unfriend on facebook?

I live in suburbs of Austin. The city council is a JOKE! The homeless here is exploding and they pass stupid left winged laws all the time. Its a mini-California in Texas. im just waiting to cash out my home in a few years.

There are no babies being murdered and it is none of your business what happens in my womb or the womb of any other woman who decides not take your opinion into consideration when making life and health personal choices. Do we get to choose what you do with your organs or bodily functions? Do I get to choose when to pull the plug on another's family member when they are on life support? Will you be calling me or any other stranger if this situation arises in your family?

This anti-choice BS is a desperate attempt for a dying ideology and party to hold onto vestiges of the past as they become less and less relevant. Wedge issues always work to manipulate the rubes and tools.

Highly doubt the city of Austin did much business with the state of Alabama to begin with, so probably not that big of an issue.
