Putin's ultimate goal is to weaken NATO and he will continue to meddle in every election necessary to do so. Putin is also meddling in other European elections to get pro Russian candidates elected. He's succeeded here and is doing a pretty good job continuing his cyber espionage campaign against the West world wide. Western intelligence services have traditionally encouraged democratic uprising world wide and Putin views that as a threat to his blast from the past lets make Russia into the former Soviet Union again.

Putin has been very busy. In 2004 Prime Minister Paksus of Lithuannia was impeached for granting citizenship to a Russian crime figure and leaking classified information. ( Meh no big deal that our own president did the safe thing in the oval office as soon as he was inaugurated, right?)
In 2007 Russia was accused of shutting down the internet in Estonia for becoming one of NATO's newest members. Estonia like Lithuannia were both former Soviet republic members. Well hey, Trump's anti NATO rhetoric is no big deal, right?
In 2013 Spain uncovered a Russian mafia money laundering scheme through Banco Madrid. Well we don't need to see Trump's financial ties to Russia and possible money laundering with Russia through Trump's real estate transactions. It's nobody's business right?
In 2017 Russia targeted Canada's foreign minister with alleged Nazi links, but hey, lies and conspiracy theories are just fine as long as you boy gets elected, right?

Also in 2017 Macron was targeted with rumors about his sexual orientation. I guess the French people are better at spotting fake news because Macron was elected. American's are gullible in comparison.

USA Today has an interesting article: Breitbart, other alt-right websites are the darlings of Russian propaganda effort.

"The websites which include True Pundit, the Gateway Pundit and Imperialist U are regular features on the list of Top Domains pushed by a network of 600 Twitter accounts followed by the German Marshall Fund of the United States, which tracks a Russian disinformation and propaganda campaign focused on U.S. voters."
Do we meddle in other elections? You bet. Putin is winning world wide with fake news, lies, and conspiracy theories. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Low information, emotional thinkers are the biggest threat to our country. We elect crooks and grifters with criminal convictions and allegations in all forms of government. Why?

Weird post...

Are you implying the left wing opposition party(s) in Austria colluded with Putin to set up this "sting"?
