My girlfriend doesn't like hanging out in clubs...so we don't go. I'm not big on drinking at all...so it doesn't matter much. I do miss karaoke sometimes, but oh well.

The 13-18 crowd here drinks more than the 25-99 crowd, where I live.

I fail to see how raising/lowering it would effect anything.
If they want booze, they're going to get it. End of story.

We allow 18 year olds to vote in this country. The brain at that age is apparently developed enough to make a decision concerning our nation's future.

We allow 18 year olds to join the armed services, go anywhere in the world and shoot to kill the enemy. The brain at that age is apparently developed enough to protect our country.

So someone can stand next to me in line at the polling place and can answer my country's call but they can't have a shot and a beer? Eighteen gets my vote.

The parents are the ones supplying the booze.

There is a monthly party. As long as the kids can raise the money for the booze, the mother will host the party in her basement and will buy the booze. Party invitation costs $5, and money is raised.

Unless the US plans to raise the age to 65, to ban the parents from buying them, then we will still have a problem.

I drank a lot more before my 18th birthday. And had a little bit a wine with my meal since early teen. Well Ok i am French, I don't have to explain why. Drinking in moderation should have a set age. drinking to get drunk, shouldn't be lower then 16 at least.

Then punish the parents. Seriously. If the parents can't be responsible...or be role models, then they need to learn some responsibility...the hard way.

Look, I fully agree with you. I don't drink. Never have. Never will.

However, when it comes to the law.. A cop can't just enter a house on the word that he believes there is drinking downstairs. :/

actually, court rulings have accepted that cops can act if they have reason to believe there's a crime being committed inside.

Actually women have caught up in this area. This ain't the 1950s! You must not go to bars/clubs where young people go.

Here's an interestin article:
