I don't deal in crap, thank you. But should he get credit for something that was talked and started before he became president. He have to appease his base, they probably would explode if he put Harriet Tubman on a bill.

Yeah but that's my point--by blacks (or anyone on the left for that matter) he really is in a no-win situation. If Harriet is on the bill--it's because of Obama--if she isn't--it's because of Trump. He could put Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill, Medgar Evers on the $50 and Thurgood Marshall on the $100...and people would still complain and say "it's not enough" .

Take the First Step Act on prison reform--Trump reviewed, signed and approved it, and there was a biprtisan effort in congress to get it passed. Does Trump get any credit for it? Nope. Do the Republicans get any credit for it? Nope. What have we heard from black leaders on the left? "It doesn't go far enough" . Meanwhile if Obama did it;there would be a holiday in his name for it.

I've been saying it for a while now--it's a futile effort for the GOP to doing anything that specifically benefits the black community. Why do it if you aren't going to get the political credit for it anyway? They either claim it's "not enough" or that somehow the Dems should really be the ones getting credit for it anyway.

IMO, THe GOP should strictly focus on Asians (East Asian, Indians, Arabs etc), and conservative Hispanics when it comes to minority recruitment. They are far more aligned with conservative values and issues within their respective communities.

I have a novelty idea, why not just focus on the American people in general, regardless of race or social class. Try being president of all the people for a change, and not just your base, and saying things and acting in a way just to keep them happy.

Then maybe stop trying to force it. Everyone plays victim. For example, those loud ones who all of a sudden start talking about "immigration and race in America" right out of the blue while in line at the grocery store. You would think they'd not be so pent up inside that they feel offended upon sight of a black person shopping, too. BTW, this seems to happen just about every time I'm in public, and it's always a white guy using his god-given loudspeaker to complain about "too many blacks and Mexicans" in the stores. Consuming while dark is a crime, I suppose.

here's a novel answer--they've been doing that. A 50 year record low in unemployment benefits everyone doesn't it? A strong economy benefit everyone doesn't it? Favorable trade policies with China benefits everyone doesn't it? Protecting our borders benefits everyone doesn't it? Nuclear disarmament benefits everyone doesn't it? Tax cuts benefit everyone doesn't it? Reforming NAFTA benefits everyone doesn't it? If anything, Trump receives criticism for not targeting specific policies that benefit minorities the most.

I don't do the identity politics thing, so I take a broader approach: what is good for Americans? By doing so, black people will also gain, although not through a program directed specifically toward them alone.

I've proposed this before, but here goes: I think the top 5% of each graduating HS class should get a free ride to the state university, with the caveat being that tuition will continue to be paid as long as a 3.0 is maintained. This will have a way of helping out those in poorer areas, including those cities which are largely black and impoverished, like Detroit or Baltimore.

Now, don't you think that would help black people, particularly those born into poverty and relegated to inferior schools?

If that's how it really is, then maybe more people should just shut up/quit complaining about Black people voting Democrat.

Coming from you, this is straight up comedy gold. Or have you forgotten all your threads and posts where you called anyone critical of Israel an anti-semite? Pepperidge Farm remembers.....

Oye. I never said anyone critical of Israel is an antisemite, although liberals like you keep trying to peddle that lie to get Jews to be quiet. If you want to dump on me on that, dig up that thread. I was talking about a great way to benefit blacks and all other Americans - the Top 5 program. (That's why I named it.)
