If seeing the president’s tax returns is so important, then why haven’t all members of Congress produced theirs? Go ahead, ask them.

And I really think Bill Barr is about the last person in America who will be charged with obstruction of justice. He did nothing wrong.

If they don't get the tax returns soon enough then when we have a Democrat in the White House they really need to get revenge then. They're asking for only six years of Trump's tax returns and Trump's lackies in the treasury department are refusing to follow the law and the lackies at Trump's department of justice, headed by Trump's defense attorney are refusing to enforce the law. The problem with that is when we have a Democratic president he'll put his own people in. And they won't be people who only care about protecting Trump. They'll be people who when the House says hey we want 12 years of Donald Trump's tax returns and also 12 years of Steve Mnuchin's tax returns they'll say sure here you go. And when the Democratic president tells his attorney general that he wants him to investigate Barr for obstruction of justice they'll do it. The Democrats may need to do that. Just because Trump's time in the White House is over and we still don't have his taxes that doesn't mean he won. That means he doesn't have all that power anymore and the Democrats need to go after him full force. If they ever "look forward, not backwards" then we are screwed. That would solidify that Republican presidents are above the law.

And don't try and tell me "but then the Republicans would..." that's a bull**** argument. They're going to be doing that **** anyway.
1. Senators make $174,000 a year. Speaker of the House makes $224,000 a year. Minority and majority senate and house leaders make just over $193,000 a year. Instead of seeing the tax returns of someone who was a billionaire businessman before he became president of the United States, I'd like to see the tax returns of those politicians who have become millionaires since taking office.

2. I would also like to see the names of those on the list who took advantage of the tax-payer slush fund that keeps sexual abuse allegations quiet. It hasn't been leaked. Presumably because politicians on both sides of the aisles are included.

But go ahead - spout really bad grammar, bolded type face and fake outrage in an effort to try and get information that nobody cares about. Keep on keeping on, Dude.

Perhaps it would be helpful if you read up on the concept “equal branches of government,” along with individual rights to privacy and due process of law. Congress is not above the laws they have written.

It has been tradition for presidential candidates, or at least President-elects, to release several years of their tax return to not only show they're transparent to the American people and thus gain their trust, but to also prove they have no conflicts of interest in their role as leader of the free world (this really hasn't been a tradition for Congressional representatives). The fact is Trump has broken that (like a lot of other presidential traditions), which understandably has some people upset.

That being said, the obsession over his taxes is ridiculous and they need to get over it. The American people want to see representatives in Congress focus on addressing their needs, not wasting their taxpayer dollars on what's essentially a witch hunt.

Democrats are always vicious- there is no reason for alarm or a need to change.

Republicans, on the other hand, fail to stoop to the levels that the democrats take for business as usual.
Witness:
1. the blood bath that was the Kavanaugh hearing- the publicans were very gentle on Kagan and Sotomayor
2. the investigations and attacks on Trump through the dem congress
3. the dems stealing the last nomination from Bernie and giving it to Hillary
4. Calls by dem congressmen (and women) for violence against conservatives
5. Attempting to alter the 2016 election through use of the "deep state".
6. Using the media as a personal left wing propaganda unit
7. Getting Obamacare through as "deemed passed", subverting the legislative process
8. Using the IRS to audit conservative donors
9. Spying on opposition politicians
10. Using "rent a riot" paid demonstrators to harass conservative politicians.

is not a law. Reagan never released his tax returns when he ran when he was a private citizen and neither did Jimmy Carter. If the I.R.S. doesn't have a problem with his tax returns then nobody should.

If Democrats are so obsessed with tax returns then pass a law that requires everybody in the legislative branch, and the judicial branch and the executive branch to show their tax returns.....lets start with Congress who makes our laws and judges in the SC and the President to be transparent.

they won't do t because it is a witch hunt and political.

1. I never said it was law, only that it was tradition. Some people place a high value on keeping with tradition.

2. Politifact shows every president since 1976 has released tax returns, including Reagan and Carter.

https://www.politifact.com/wisconsin...-40-years-not/

3. I have no doubt Democrats will work on passing a law making this a requirement. But it would be a fruitless effort to try and do so until they control the Senate and White House (if they ever get control of them again).

95 percent of the people clamoring for his tax returns probably file a 1041 EZ form and wouldnt understand the returns anyways.
No one really cares about his tax returns.
As stated...i too, would rather see the returns of the congress people who became multimillionaires on a 175k salary. And would like to see who has had sexual assault claims filed against them that we tax payers paid off.
We will soon get to see just how crooked the dems are when barr and durham get through, and the IG report is released.

nixon started that tradition of releasing tax returns in 1973 over controversy about his taxes;

Quote:
In 1973, while under audit and amid a controversy over his personal taxes, Nixon released returns dating back to when he took office in 1969. The scandal led to one of Nixon's most famous quotes.
"People have got to know whether or not their president is a crook," Nixon told reporters in November 1973. "Well, I am not a crook."
