I oppose discrimination based on gender, race, culture, religion, etc.
Same baseline pay for same job. Of course education, experience, years with the company, job performance warrant pay raises, etc.
Do I believe pay should be mandated by the government, no. Do I believe a person has the right to sue and companies be heal liable for blatant pay discrimination, yes.

Households headed by single dads now account for more than 16 percent of single-parent homes..up from 12% in 2007...up from 1% in 1962

single fathers represent a sizeable proportion: about 2·6 million families in the USA....., 330 000 in Canada......, and 300 000 families in the UK are headed by single fathers
Thats great. Yes I have noticed a big change in family dynamics. For most of my life fathers did little parenting, feeding, bathing, changing diapers, anything really. Rarely even cared for their children when they were widowed. It is refreshing to see so many more dads taking an active role in their children's lives.
Still 16% doesn't dispute the fact that women make up the majority of single custodial parents.

I took it to my union and won - but what I see is males get the promos

Why can't Kamala find women qualified for prominent positions in her Senate office and on her campaign?

good or bad idea. Seems like a good idea for lawyers and lawsuit happy women
Don't hire women, then. Who wants a time bomb on the payroll.

I can't stand Trump so I'll probably vote Democratic in 2020. But there are some dems that I would never vote for: Bernie Sanders, Elisabeth Warren, and Kamala Harris. I'll vote Libertarian before I vote for a raving leftist. Trump is a paper tiger. Should be easy pickings. But I'm starting to think that the dems will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Completely agreed with this statement.

Some of these far left democrats just don't line up with what I consider reasonable behaviour. Some of the ideas being thrown around makes me wonder where they are going to get the money to pay for their schemes/ideas. I get the idea of trying to get things on a better footing for everyone to have a better chance in life. I don't agree with free University for all. However, health insurance has been hell for years. Don't get me started on pre-existing conditions.

However, republicants scare me a heck of a lot more. I don't agree with their socialism for the rich, its pretty cruel. Granted 600 billionaires aren't going to plug the deficit but paying no taxes? Don't get me started on the social crap with abortion. Where are the laws regulating men's bodies? Yeah, I didn't think so. There is a reason there is a separation of church and state.

I am a Republican in the style of Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. However, after 43 Dubya left office I knew I couldn't abide the way the party was going any longer. Granted left democrats aren't my cup of tea. I guess I just have to stay an Independent/Libertarian to a point.

I think I jumped the shark! This was about Kamala and the pay gap. If a man and a woman in an equal role have the same degree and the same number years of experience there should be no question they should be paid the same.

Different professions get paid differently, that is a fact of life! When I hear women cry about the pay gap I have to figure out what the real deal is. A sociologist is going to get paid less than an athlete etc...

It is false to think there isn't a pay gap though, sorry some men can't see that still in 2019~

I just trying to understand something: If I can have the same quality of work and to pay less, why would I hire men at all? Maybe there is a reason why men getting more?

My favorite and most productive managers have been men, by far. My female managers are all about everyone playing nice, and trying not to hurt the feelings of the inept and the slackers.
I agree with this, my favorite managers have all been male. The female managers I have had were all micro-managers. HATED THEM! LoL.

One female supervisor I had made me crazy, so much during the work day, that I quit because the inept slackers were given a pass constantly. Guess who did their work as well as mine. I fought for a raise and was denied. Found a better job. Most of the great employees at that same company found better paying jobs including my own sister!

I think my direct communication style works better with men also!

the MYTH of the glass ceiling is just that..a MYTH

In many occupations, including speech pathology and financial analysis, women earn far more than men. When it comes to college degrees, women outpace men by a fair shot. According to the Wall Street Journal, “single, childless women between ages 22 and 30 were earning more than their male counterparts in most U.S. cities, with incomes that were 8 percent on average."

if liberals were ACTUALLY concerned with fairness...then they would be pushing for a pay for performance law, rather than a BS glass ceiling that doesn't exist

why should the other person be paid the same as me.........if I have more experience.......and more skill

do you really think the worst mechanic in town, should get paid the same as the best mechanic in town???

pay is set by QUALIFICATIONS and needs...needs of the company AND needs of the employee who negotiates starting wage during the application process

do you really think pay should be only set by title???

should a _________(you choose man/woman/it) who has been DOING THE JOB for 1 year be paid the same as a __________ who has been DOING the JOB for 10 years( EXPERIENCE )?????

pay is set by skill, experience, education, and need(daycare, hours, etc)...and how you PRESENT YOURSELF on the interview, where you NEGOTIATE for the salary

liberals always look to mediocrity, instead of striving for the best

now liberals will force LOWER PAY for all...the fascist liberal dream...all of us being serfs

More corporatist propaganda, meanwhile you blame the liberals.
