We are due for a recession. Longest period of economic expansion is US history, thanks to helicopter money, fed manipulation, QE, etc. I would suspect much of the recent growth was simply growth for the sake of growth, which is inherently inefficient and counterproductive. Time to trim the fat.

It's not the longest expansion.

The two longest economic expansions were 120 months and 106 months occurring over the Bush/Clinton Administrations and the JFK/LBJ/Nixon Administrations respectively.

The record of 106 months has been broken.

The record of 120 months would be tied in August, and broken in September.

This is the 117th month.

This fiscal quarter ends June 30. The first of three GDP reports won't be published until late July.

Although GDP may decline for 2nd QTR 2019, there's zero evidence of recession.

In all likelihood, you will actually tie and then break the record, which will be an historic event. However, it's not likely the economy will continue to expand for any large stretch beyond that.

If I were to guess, I'd say sometime between 4th QTR 2019 and 2nd QTR 2020.

Sucks to be a Republican.

No, I’m not happy at all. I prefer winning.

Trump has increased US manufacturing to a far greater extent than Obama. Obama had thrown in the towel on US manufacturing and middle class manufacturing jobs suffered as a result.

Farmers going bankrupt, over 7,000 businesses closings, prices rising, yes sir, Trump has done a wonderful job. Even Walmart is on the news announcing it will be raising prices. The news media stated that under Trump prices will rise $500 annually for each individual. A family of four will be paying an extra $2000 just for living expenses. How does that tax refund look now?

However you can still find work at places like Wmart for $11.50/hr, 28hr work week, and no benefits. You could have supplemented with food stamps as Wmart workers were doing but now Trump has also curtailed those pesky food stamps. Too bad.
The crash is just around the corner and you can thank Demented Donald Trump.

Trump is driving the economy into the ground. We are headed for a serious economic collapse because of his stupidity.

At least Trump says he has, without anything factual offered in support.
