I don't get it. Free markets made us the #1 economy on earth. "Poor people" have air conditioning,TVs, cell phones, cars, and are so overfed that obeisity is an epidemic.
Go to a socialist country and you'll see true poverty. From dumpster diving in Venezuela to an average worker in Europe with a 2000 EUR salary and perhaps 100 EUR in disposable income each month after everything else goes to the government, where home ownership, a car or some money in the bank is the luxury of a few.
And we need to change our system?!?!? Talk about being SPOILED ROTTEN and having NO IDEA how good we have it!
Please tell me you are not saying the typical US ghetto dweller is better off than the typical Dane.
I’m concerned that as more Americans embrace socialism that eventually we’ll be heading on a path of chaos, deprivation, poverty, suffering, and death!
Because we have libraries and SS, liberals conclude we are socialists and since all people love libraries and SS, they must be in support of socialism.
So if liberals were the dad who is of German lineage, and the mom is of Hungarian lineage, the dad declares the offspring is GERMAN!

True, this is a great country. But it could be better.
Being more socialist, doesn't mean giving up freedom. On a list of countries with the most economic freedom, the US is #18, below the likes of New Zealand, Canada and Sweden. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...onomic_freedom
So something closer to Europe or Canada sounds good to me. Nobody is talking about emulating Cuba or Venezuela (except our president, who would like to have absolute power, like Castro and Maduro)
America is supposed to be land of the free. But with socialism, people can never be free. Should be a sign that Americans don't have their priorities straight these days. More concerned about what's on TV vs what type of future they are passing on to the next generations in line.
And so it is.
You do have a library card, don’t you?
That's not socialism. People PAY into both of those, and a lot of money too. I'd rather have kept and invested both myself. It is government forced savings, not socialism.
You dont pay into anything. Money is taken from your paycheck on friday and monday the govt uses it to pay the bills. Nothing is set aside for you to collect at a later date and what you pay today has no correlation with anything you might collect later from other worker bees. And the supreme court has ruled that you are not guaranteed any return whatsoever on the money taken from you to provide a retirement income for others. Good scam if you can get it.
Thank you.
