You do know that members of the framers of our constitution initially wanted a lifetime president elected by congress, then wanted terms with no set term limit. It was Washington who set the standard (no amendment) of two terms because he wanted to step down after two terms. It wasn't until FDR (4 term president) the 22 amendment was passed in 1947 limiting the office to two terms.
I have a coworker that says the same thing, that Trump won't leave if he's unelected. When I press him on it he doesn't really have sound reasoning for his opinion. This isn't some South American country here. He will be physically walked out of the office in my opinion if he doesn't want to leave. The military is usually the ones that aid in political coup and he doesn't have that kind of support from the military, at least from what it appears anyway.
We're going to elect Melania in 2024, don't worry, we'll get to enjoy Trump's tweets. Nevermind, I guess it's Ivanka.
