The biggest reason is money. The MIC must be fed, fat and happy. A little further down the road this could be prepositioning of weapons for an invasion. 8.1 billion can buy a lot of goods for things like that, fuel set aside, food, parts you name it. An invasion of Iran would require a LOT of logistics infrastructure.

Finally doing their jobs:

“A bipartisan group of senators plans to flood the Senate with 22 separate resolutions to block arms sales to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf allies that the Trump administration hoped to muscle through, they announced Wednesday.”

As someone who hates Saudi Arabia and everything it stands for I am very thankful for this effort by the Senate. I hope they are successful.

What kind of national emergency on the world stage did Yemen cause?
ISIS extremist group says it was behind an attack Sunday on a Saudi security building in al-Zulfi, a suburb around 250 km north of the capital Riyadh, in which all four gunmen were killed and ...

The world of socialist democrats is black and white with no shades of gray.
that philosophy makes their observations and conclusions irrelevant.

SA and every other ME country is a mixed bag that has to be managed in terms of benefit and loss. A strategy democrats are unable to comprehend.

Trump and every other president does things that the opposition declares unconstitutional. that is how the system works and why we have a judicial branch. Trump is not breaking any law. Trump may be challenging a law as he is allowed to do.

Trump considers this part of an earlier approved deal, not a new one. Let the courts decide.

Democrats have demonstrated their inability to negotiate complex issues and should be kept from office by vote. Let them have the stage on social justice issues like bathrooms. that is their forte.

The ISIS is the JV team contingent has no relevance when dealing with reality.

I can not dispute this, your statement is generally correct.

However, when the president defies the will of congress the situation is at a whole new level. It is no longer a case of mutual favor between the Saudi kingdom and the USA. It is a case of the president alone and the Saudi kingdom in mutual favor. What is Trump's real motive behind this?

They really squeezed Oman, in spite of the fact that the country had a favorable relationship with the USA and hosts a lot of US military. That was Kushner's doing, generating political capital with the Saudi's and getting a nice rescue loan for his real estate.
