No they wouldn't. Stating the obvious does not mean one is happy about it, it's just stating the obvious.

What one's profession is has nothing to do with the inevitable.

I just find that most of the people who are gleefully welcoming the incoming joblessness of others due to automation do it feeling that their job is safe and it can't happen to them. No one wants their own job to be automated out of existence

Many do it because they feel superior. They are not but in the end it's inevitable.

In a way I'm jeoulous. I'd kinda like living in an age when you don't have to work.

We do have more high skill jobs than ever. We also have a shortage of people with the proper skills for those jobs.
This has been going on for 200 years. More people are employed now than ever before in history. People feared machines 200 years ago as well. But new jobs are always added. Thats why so many are employed today compared to the low tech era 100 years ago. And the same will be true 50 years from now.

It's very easy to tell all the McDonalds workers to gain "skills." But let's real here, a good portion of low skill workers are so because they don't have the ability to do higher level work. Nor is there enough high level work to absorb the millions of these workers when the low level jobs are made redundant.

A strike at a few locations in not all that consequential.

Our local one is short staffed because they will not go above $9.50 an hour. They would rather have lines than pay more.

Their choice.

25% of this country has an IQ of 90 or below. You are not going to make a tech worker out of them. There has to be a dignified life available to them.

Not a good reason. We are getting to a point where we could have driverless cars but we are still figuring out if we should.

Well I personally think they need to have an operator on-board even if the are AI controlled similar to planes.

Except, I'm fearing that the Rethuglicans will stop something like UBI from ever happening and that will mean just like now that no work=no money
