A "better idea" based on what I know from relatives who have lived in such areas. A better idea of the situation. Either your reading comprehension is off or you are playing dumb.

Well, I really had a hard time understanding how what I said could have been misinterpreted. I'm thinking you were saying what you said out of spite. The rest of my post being ignored would lead me to believe this even more.

Kansas City has more homicides over Memorial Day weekend than Omaha has had all year so far.
You can't seriously be comparing Omaha and Lincoln Nebraska to Kansas City and St Louis Missouri.
Populations of Metropolitan Areas:
St Louis: 2,850,000
Kansas City: 2,150,000
Omaha: 975,000
Lincoln: 331,00
St Louis and Kansas City are urban centers with extensive suburban surroundings. Omaha is a small metro and Lincoln is a college town.
Compare St Louis (#20 in population) to it's closest competitors in size - Denver and Baltimore.
Compare Omaha (#59) to Bridgeport, CT and Albuquerque
Compare Lincoln (#154) to Rockford, IL and Boulder, CO

Not disrespecting you but I also felt that you had a better idea of how it can be solved based on having relatives there. I can now also see how this can also be interpreted as having a better idea of the situation there. Sometimes sentences can be interpreted differently based on which words you place an emphasis on.
I work in the city of Atlanta (towards Midtown). I see alot of Black people here, but no gangs. I think all of the gangs are towards the south of the city and towards Bankhead (I don't go there if I don't have to).
What I know of Kansas City without having been there: Barbecue, the Kansas City Royals, fountains, boulevards, the river, etc. I also know it has some crime issues.
Some areas of KC are better to avoid, day or night, white or black.
Currently, Atlanta doesn't have that many murders compared to Kansas City. Nashville doesn't even come close to what KC has.
Atlanta (this year): 38 murders
Kansas City (this year): 54 murders
Atlanta and Kansas City have populations between 486,000-488,000 people. I notice the subject of race came up. Atlanta is majority Black, around 51-52 percent Black. Kansas City is around 30% Black. Non-Hispanic Whites are 55% of Kansas City's population. Non-Hispanic Whites are 41% of Atlanta's population. So far, Kansas City is more violent than Atlanta. Blacks are a larger part of Atlanta's population (both city and metro). Atlanta, however, has the lower murder rate.
Missouri and Virginia. Missouri has much fewer Blacks (both as a percentage and raw numbers) as Virginia. Somehow, Virginia comes out with a markedly lower murder rate. Missouri has the 2nd highest murder rate in the USA. Only Louisiana is worse (Louisiana has ranked #1 for murder for the last 30 years).
Virginia murder rate (2017): 5.3 per 100,000
Missouri murder rate (2017): 9.8 per 100,000
Close to 20% of Virginia's population is Black. Missouri's Black population is close to 12% percent, mirroring the national average. Virginia has over 8 million people, Missouri has about 6.1 million people. Virginia had about 451 murders in 2017. Missouri had around 600 murders.
Compare Missouri with Georgia. Georgia has over 10 million people. Georgia has a murder rate around 6.7 per 100,000. While Georgia could certainly do better, it's a less murderous state than Missouri. Georgia is around 30 percent Black. It has around 3.3 million Blacks in the state. Missouri has about 700,000 Blacks. Missouri has a markedly higher murder rate than Georgia.
Something to consider. Why does Missouri have such problems with murder compared to Virginia and Georgia, despite having fewer Blacks than the latter two states?
