And yet I'm comfortable wagering he still did a lifetime's worth more of service to country than you ever did.

It's easy for you to smear anyone who doesn't align with your partisan view.

Sorry to see that you call a man who is 100 times the man any of us are a traitor, simply because he had the integrity to stand up for what he thought was right. I realize that your side prefers boot lickers, like Mitch, but there are, and were, men and women who put country over party, and John McCain was a shining example of courage and conviction. John McCain was a true American.

But, he offended your little boy Trump, so I can understand your ire.

And you use the word "traitor" far too loosely.

Did you know that not every American with a different opinion from yours is a traitor? No, I bet you didn't.

The ship also is named for his father and grandfather. Both Admirals.

Doesn't matter - according to the new conservative standard, anything associated with anyone who doesn't dutifully lick Trump's sack is TREASONOUS!

McCain was more of a patriot than your hero, Cadet Bone Spurs ever could be.

White House Asked for USS John McCain to be kept out of sight.....
What an ass.

Hard to believe this guy has become the personification of the Republican party in US.

To refer to a national hero like John McCain as being a traitor shows just how far we have slid as a nation. I remember a time when you never spoke badly of the dead, we had class and dignity, and to do otherwise showed the kind of person we were. Furthermore, to besmirch the good name of someone who not only fought for this country (while other lesser men were nursing imaginary bone spurs) is about as low as you can go.

You can try to soften it any way you want, but to say one bad word about a true American, like John, are words that should never be uttered. We need more men like him, who don't give a damn about voting because of party, but rather for what is good for America.

Sorry - today's conservatives have long ago made clear that they have no standards at all. That's how they get behind a guy who dodged service cravenly ridiculing combat vets and gold star families whenever it suits his fragile ego. Nothing is sacred.
