“Two Navy officials confirmed to CNN Wednesday night that the White House Military Office asked lower-level US Navy officials about keeping the ship out of view. One of the Navy officials further clarified Thursday morning that the discussion included obscuring the ship or moving it, which was not practical because the ship was under repairs at the time.”
"Once leadership heard about it, they said knock it off," a senior Navy official told CNN.
Rebecca Ballhaus had to know the email originated from the White House Military Office... wonder why she left that out of her story?
We have honored Presidents who served our country honorably in peacetime and in wartime by naming aircraft carriers after them -- the Truman, the Eisenhower, the Reagan, the Bush (G.W.H.)
We have honored an ordinary enlisted sailor who was murdered by Hezbollah terrorists by naming a U.S. Navy destroyer, the USS Robert Stethem, in his memory.
We have honored the victims of 9/11 by naming three Navy amphibious ships, the New York, Arlington, and Somerset, after the sites attacked that day.
With this latest display of outrageous infantile behavior from the White House, the current Commander in Chief has shown he isn't fit to have even a garbage scow named after him.
I love it! I first became a passionate Trump supporter when he said that John McCain was not a hero. Remember the media said he was done after that? How wrong they were. I hate John McCain as much as you people hate Trump...the fact that Trump is a fellow McCain hater makes him my favorite President of my lifetime.
Yep, feuds do make a great television show. Good for you that Trump continues to entertain you.
Unfortunately one must know the difference between reality and reality TV if they want the country to survive and function for all. Governing by sound bites and chaos and keeping the masses, who are unhappy with their lot in life, supplied with enemies and scapegoats just does not equate to successful governing and leadership.
Voting for drama and cliffhangers and ugly deception and villainous behavior makes sense in pretend world, but some folks want their government to function, not entertain.
Sadly it seems there are many who have ceded their responsibility and lives to observing others pretend to function as they create really bad entertainment that is the farthest thing from real. Let alone "normal".
Yeah, there is, you’ve clearly chosen to ignore it.
It was a video. But it doesn’t seem to matter. Even CNN is reporting that the email was not sanctioned by military leaders and the ship was not covered when Trump came to visit. The tarp was on before his visit because the ship was being repaired. Plus, it looks like garbage freighter anyway, so covering it up is not the worst thing.
the assertion in this thread topic was a total lie.
