Which developing country is great at protecting American IP then? I am just curious. Lots of countries demand that companies transfer technology in return for access to their market. South Korea and Japan are far more protective of their domestic market than China has been. Lets be honest here. What did we do when we grew in the 19th and early 20th century and challenged the UK and Germany? Did we protect the IP of Germany and the UK?

The USPS is a good example, all postal service participate on this goodwill that they will deliver foreign mail and packages from the postal service of another country for free. Since Chinese government runs their mail service they subsidize the cost of shipping so that any item shipped is cheaper than a pack of cig here. While a package in the US cost more than a pack of cigarette here because USP is indirectly tax payer funded.

This is an example how TPP like rules doesn't benefit every country unless there's some parity of government subsidies on services.

TPP would make send goods between the countries virtually tariff free and every industry in the US would be impacted even worse off.
Ugh, China wasn't involved in TPP at all. In fact, the whole point was to reduce the dependence on Chinese exports in places like Vietnam. Trump nuked the whole thing, now countries like Singapore have decided to sign deals with China instead of the US.
