a teacher writing WTF or suchnot on the paper is indeed wrong.
since it was near the end of the school year, do you think it's a fair assumption that this wasn't the first time she's had issue with the student? Or do you think it's more likely she was actually upset with other students, or even life in general, and took it out on this child?
Do we all agree that we hear plentiful stories of disruptive, disrespectful, and damage-causing students?
What is your solution for the overworked/underpaid teachers who are the front line of dealing with this all day?
There has to be more parental involvement so that the kind of behavior that breaks the camel's back doesn't get to this point. If it were me, I'd empower a system that noted poor behavior or effort, and have the parent acknowledge it. After the 2nd time, the parent would have to come in for a conference. After the 3rd time, the student could spend the rest of the year in a silent classroom with the rest of their ilk.
Teachers are supposed to communicate BETTER than the students, not at the same level. I bet the teacher wouldn’t appreciate a student or parent using those terms when speaking to THEM.
I remember in grade school I got homework handed back to me as an incomplete because I had doodled on it and then erased it. The teacher felt I wasn't showing seriousness in my studies. Some teachers dislike certain students and its mutual. Go to Reddit revenge sometime and you can read stories about how some teachers and professors abuse their positions and treat students unfairly based solely on personal reasons.
Unprofessional of the teacher just a bit but society is crass these days and it only takes a few minutes on social media to see it. That said, it isn't a call for firing or adverse action on the part of the school. Good lord what an idiot mother to put her kid's business all out there for billions to see. Handle your ish yourself.
For those of you that find this rude and unacceptable behavior from a teacher, have you ever had a male child in sports? Ever overhear the coach yelling at the boys in the locker room? WTF would be the tip of the iceberg.
As Trump might call it "locker-room speak". I know that there are kids who cuss but ideally no one would be cussing. Personally, I think you should be at least 16 to use that big dirty word: F-word.
