I see many are saying it is to influence the court but after 30 years of this game, has anyone won anything worth all the money and attention we put toward it. Roe v Wade was prior to stacking since the 90’s.

Again I understand what the parties are attempting to do but as a individual citizen, I have seen no benefit to citizens on either side of the spectrum. In the last 20 years at best a few got minor changes through the courts. What I see are justices that get on the bench but grow and evolve while there so it’s a gamble as to how they vote case to case outside of 2 justices.

The big changes like citizens united screwed us all. So is this just a fools errand? Just more bait for the hardcore party line voters to drool over for what seems like absolutely no reason?

Actually, the courts have made huge societal differences in the last few years from very big decisions such as legalizing gay marriage to mandating citizens buy a private product (Obamacare). You can add sanctuary cities, transgenders in the military, and the dreamers as additional court driven policy. Democrats put great stock in counting on legislation from the bench as their ideas are generally rejected by the voters when put to a vote - gay marriage being the most obvious recent example. Given this, it’s obvious why the GOP would want to ensure the judiciary has non-left wing judges since the Democrats have, in the past, utilized the courts so often to enact major policy.

All laws are an imposition of someone’s beliefs onto others.

Pro-lifers have as much right to (try to) force their beliefs onto others as any you or other group.

OP this is one example:

Quote:
I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life - Sonia Sotomayor.
It's about the law and the Constitution, not a judge's experiences.

It's called Project Blitz. Google it.

Ooooh, scary! Apparel!

Yes, I looked beyond the top link. You're scared of religious people? You think Christians are "too conservative", just you wait until the Muslim population takes over. The left doesn't have a clue what they're dealing with.

Hyperbole, muslims aren't taking over. In fact, most "religious" people in this country don't do anything beyond going to church a couple times a month at best

Really? That site has nothing to do with "Project Blitz" that is currently underway in our country.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Blitz

And can you people ever come up with anything other than "but Islam!!"? Fundamentalist Christians have complete and total control over the dominant party in the US and most state legislatures. Their goal is to force everyone to conform to the societal norms they establish with strict punishment against those who refuse. Everyone must know their place and stay there. How much power does radical Islam have in this country?

Of course, merely letting Muslims practice their faith, period, is considered anti-Christian bigotry by most people today.

At a certain threshold you can’t win the electoral vote with a big popular vote disparity. Especially as Californians/New Yorkers/etc migrate around and start turning red states purple.
