These idiots don't seem to understand the concept of owning a company, which is what a team really is. It's a company. It has nothing to do with owning people. Political correctness running amok!

So what. Last I heard, the USA is a free country. If the present NBA owners want to instead call themselves Chairperson, Chair, Dear Leader, CEO, Head Honcho, Big Cheese instead of owner, don't they have the right to make that decision? Like you said, they are the owners of a business. It doesn't matter if someone calls it political correctness or not. Should big government intervene, and stop a privately run business from doing what it thinks is best? No, it is just freedom of speech.

Shouldn’t surprise anyone that basketball players don’t understand that owner refers to the team and not they players. Many of them are illiterate and did not do their own coursework in high school or college.

Who are these people that continually press to make these connections that they find offensive and then expect everyone to be outraged by it?

It is 2019 people not 1819 so people do not own other people anymore, people own businesses and a NBA team is a business.

Has anyone asked the players how they feel about it?

Has anyone asked the Liberal Mark Cuban the owner of the Mavericks how he feels about this and how he would like to be addressed?

What's next for these SJW Bozos ? Will they go after the military? You know calling a person of higher rank than you Sir or Mam places you in a subservient role to that person which might make some people feel poorly about themselves.

LOL at the predictable post from a liberal who has suddenly become Ayn Rand.

Apparently it is some of the players who are insisting on it. The further America gets from the era of slavery, the more people want to make an issue of it.

I would not call them illiterate. Not saying they are academic scholars, but blacks in the NBA come from better backgrounds then blacks in the NFL.

As far as the topic at hand, I have no problem with the term owner, especially since the owners and players in the NBA operate as more of a partnership. Something the NFL needs to do.

Off-topic: Honestly, there are times where Person A can become so P.C./SJW-leaning or favorable to P.C./SJWs that it can be hard for them to express their actual opinion on something without fear of offending Person B. Person A, despite pleads/warnings of "this might offend you", eventually says their view on something. After that, Person B gets easily triggered and said "You are [a sexist, racist, misogynist, LGBT-phobic, Islamophobic, anti-Semitic, etc.]!" However, Person A did warn them and Person A said their opinion without using any words that are usually seen as slurs or offensive. This is why there are times where Person A might go out of their way NOT to express their opinion on something.

On topic: O.K., seriously. What should the people running a company or team be called that doesn't offend their employees? Seriously, sometimes you really need to just suck it up!

No one is saying they don't have the right to change the title. Just the stupidity of the thing being called out.
