I don't understand what the problem with a Straight Pride Parade. Why are people upset? When is White History Month while we are at it?
99% are not upset, there are just a lot people saying others are upset. Not the same thing at all.

All jokes aside in Thailand there are amulets called "Palad khik" which translates to "honorable surrogate p***s". Thai men wear them around their necks to protect them from violence and ill fortune. I see parallels with how certain American men view guns. Its there own phallic version of "Palad khik".
Pride parades have evolved. It use to be an adult only event but over time more and more families participate.
Mardi Gras and other festivals can be just as crude.
They were but not because of what we consider " adult content" today. They were protests...boring for kids. Once they became more celebratory people started bringing kids. You also have to remember that back then two men or woman holding hands/kissing was labelled obscene.
I just don't think there's much to be proud of if you have to have a parade to promote the idea. It never made sense to me regardless of whoever is doing it. To schedule a parade as a reaction to someone else's parade is doubly stupid.
What about this is hard to understand? Do you know about Mardi Gras? Did you know that women show their breasts for beads? Did you know that those on here claiming it's only gay people who can be showy in public conveniently overlook straights who do the same thing? Do you get that?
