Those who describe America as "A Nation of Immigrants" totally ignore the FACT and history that Indegenious Native Americans and African American Slaves did not "Immigrate" to the United States of America. To describe the make-up of America as otherwise is an insult to the history of Native Americans who were here in America long before white Europeans arrived and also insulting to the history of African American Slaves, who were brought to America against their own will...shackled and chained.

We are no longer a nation of immigrants. We are a nation of mostly U.S. born citizens now. Our native born citizens way outweigh any immigrant population today.
Correction, no one was indigenous or native to this country/ continent before it was discovered. Even the so called natives migrated here from somewhere else.

Native Americans were slaves too. If there were a time machine and we were able to bring all of the slaves to the present day, they'd thrive in today's environment and technological progress. "Their" ancestors would end up oppressing their own descendents. If only.
The only natives that are here crossed a land bridge. Everyone else is an immigrant and an American except illegals.
