Now California has some bad areas that I would not want to go to. Alot of Los Angeles' gang infested areas are among the places I want to stay away from. I wouldn't feel safe being in East LA or many parts of South-Central LA. On the other hand, I could give Santa Monica a try, San Diego, parts of the Bay Area, Redwood Country, Wine Country.

As far as CA goes I'm OK with Lassen, Sierra, Shasta, Modoc, Plumas, and whatever far Northern counties I missed. I actually love the countr yside in CA. Moro Bay I really like. Mendocino county has appeal. It's just a shame that all these places are in CA.

I think a good trade would be all those Northern CA counties become part of NV and we'll give CA Vegas and North Clark of Clark county to the Nye county line.

Did you even read the LA Times article you posted? It wasn't all puppies and kittens. As for Governor Newsom's, he's right, there is no Kentucky dream.
