The platform, called Parler News, is named for the French word meaning “to speak,” and many are saying it is the next logical move for those who wish to do so freely without fear of being silenced.
“Alternative platforms will rise and those who are bold will switch,” Parler News founder and CEO John Matze wrote in a post on his platform Monday night. “Big tech is not too big to topple, in fact, they are blinded by their size/power and are hurting themselves by ideologically targeting groups.”
Well, what else would you expect the founder to say?
Good luck to them.
How are they going to make money?
With 8 Followers on his Twitter account he's well on his way!
This reminds me of the Tea Party - billionaires throwing money at astroturf groups hoping that other people will eventually jump in as if the movement was real (had actual demand).
I say it doesn't...to any degree. There will be the very same people who, instead of having 4 links they visit (Drudge, BB, Fox, DC) will now have 5 or 6......
It will be the true definition of an "echo chamber"....but only about 1% of the country will be listening. The same 1%.
Everytime Trump tweets he sounds like an absolute moron.
No different here....
For cons it's only a matter of getting attention. When they figure out all that few are reading or listening to these new platforms they create, they will be Gone Like The Wind.

The best defense a kid could have is breaking wind when Joe Biden is sniff hair.
That's harder to do on twitter though !!!
We perhaps could more accurately say Joe is Gone With the Wind.
Thankfully Twitter can get the word out about creepy Joe's practice and maybe save a few kids !!!
No doubt new platforms will provide the same service !!!
are you aware that blocking and banning are two completely different things?
no?
didn't think so.
Trump is not your ordinary Twitter user, though. It does affect 1st amendment when he does it since he is a government official. Also, the White House has said his tweets are official statements.
He has made it more than just his personal account since he is announcing government policies and similar actions. When he blocks people, it means they cannot reply to him easily (if at all,) even if they could log out to see what he said. Therefore, he is stifling their free speech.
This does not apply to non-government people blocking each other, or someone blocking a government official, or Twitter banning people. It's a narrow application because he is a government person blocking people from expressing their opinion about something he says in an official capacity.

Trumpet would've made more sense in my mind, Trumpet logo, sits before Twitter alphabetically, Trump just made another Trump, he's been Trumping all day today.
