Probably either S.A. or Israhell. They both love to toy with the United States like this.

If the state controlled media is begging us to believe it was those naughty Iranians at it again, that means it probably wasn't the Iranians. I would wager a bet on either the towel heads or the pissrahellis

Iran is a waste of time, we need to go to CHINA. We hand our manufacturing off to them, they make us poorer, they get richer. The world was stupid to ever trust a communist government.

Well it was Iran in 1987 when the US Navy said oh no we don't have minesweepers anymore

People should stop driving all together.

Yep. Pompeo’s big mouth actually makes me suspect him more, not less.

He keeps Neoconservatives around. He gives them high profile jobs. Why shouldn’t we believe that he’s one too?

Exactly. Tell Trump to lose the neocons, and we won’t refer to him as a neocon.

But I’m gonna tag Trump according to his associations, and right now he’s associating with neocons.

We’ve had sanctions against Iran for decades. They know how to live under sanctions.

Sorry, but there’s no proof of your assertions.

What should we do?

We should strike them is a strong but limited fashion. We should diminish their ability to threaten shipping in the straight of Hormuz. This would mean destroying shore missile batteries, we should destroy their navy and use US air power to protect shipping from Iranian jets. This action would not require ground forces nor would US aircraft have to go far inland over Iran to do this. It would however harm their offensive capabilities in the Gulf and embarks them in a very public way. They would back down a behave. Strength is the only path to peace. Weakness and inaction lead to war. If Iran fears us they will stop all this saber rattling.
Iran ABSOLUTELY has the power to wage war against the United States, and they won’t lose it either.

Advocating for an attack against Iran as a retaliatory measure is nonsensical. To think this can be done without the eventual use of ground troops is pollyanaish. It’s bunk.

If Iran is attacked, they HAVE to respond. That means we have to respond. Now their backs are against the wall, and they must respond again in a way that will draw blood. The regime can’t afford to look weak.

Forget this notion of air strikes or missile strikes. Iran will force the issue to the point that we will have no choice but to then pursue regime change. That can’t be done with missiles...you’ve gotta go to Tehran to do that. And it can’t stop with Tehran either. You’ve gotta pacify the whole country.

Uh oh...now the Iranians take up arms and head into the mountains and the countryside, and Iran is a nation of 75 million people. Jihadists from all over the world who are anti American start pouring in over the borders. Nameless and faceless Iranians start committing terror attacks and laying IED’s all over the country. U.S. bases in Iran will come under relentless attack from rockets held by shadowy Persian rebel groups and their foreign jihadist pals. Iranian rebels start getting weaponry from Russia and any other anti American groups in Central Asia and maybe even the Far East.

Now you’ve got Vietnam on steroids. Can’t leave either. Gotta save face after invading so the war becomes intractable. Staying is hell on Earth, but to leave is embarrassing.

And if you’re gonna say that the Iranian people will be happy to have the mullahs overthrown, think again. Any attack by us will unite the Iranians, not divide them.

How will the vast majority of people get to work? Get their groceries? Buy other essential items? So it is OK for the working poor to be forced to spend all their money on gasoline?

Fortunately under Trump we are maximizing DOMESTIC oil, and gas production so not dependent on foreign oil. Yes, political uncertainty will increase prices here as we are in a world market, but it shouldn't be like the 1970's when Carter was President.
