Looks like Democrats are going to start introducing legislation prior to next year's election to make a statement that are serious about these expansions.

It's basically a game the Democrats are doing because they know that it won't pass the Republican senate and President Trump will veto.

Estimates are that this new scheme they are introducing in Democrats higher education package would have a price tag of 125 billion dollars a year.

They just want to manipulate desperate segments of society into saying look at your going to get if you vote for us in 2020.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/06/13/bill...loan-debt.html

Borrowers with a household income of less than $100,000 would have $50,000 outstanding loans "Scrubbed"

Borrowers would have student debt forgiveness all the way up to $250,000 annual income

Let's see now - "Vote for ME and [I}I promise[/i] to ......

Forgive Loans and give FREE college.
Reparations to anyone with a single drop of "slave" blood
FREE Money for every person - we will call it Guaranteed Income
To CURE Cancer

Let's not forget -- we will make sure that boys and girls have the right and obligation to shower together in public schools.

I'm sure there are more, but those have to be my top 5.
How can anyone in the entire World not demand that the Man who promises to cure cancer not be in charge of the entire World -- the USA is obligated to share his Genius with the World.

Nearly half the people I know that have student debt used it to screw off. Most of them are now “victims”.

So us taxpayers have to pay for someone's college education?

All the ideas coming from the Democrats are just retarded.

You signed the dotted line. Agreed to the terms. Now you can pay it back.

The education system did not get so screwed up with student debt and rising tuition costs until the government got involved.

The government screws everything up.

Democrats are shopping for votes. Nothing more.

This is a much bigger "bargaining" chip than many understand. There are so many students out there today that are ensnared in student loan debt they will be willing to vote for anyone promising freebies/bailouts. Debt is the ultimate tool to buy votes.

And of course the plan does nothing to address the root causes of the student loan bubble. Irresponsible lending practices for unmarketable degrees, out of control tuition, fees, expenses, etc, and excessive admin and faculty pay. Wonder why no address of the root causes? Maybe because the individuals running the higher ed gravy train these days are on the left.

Warren was paid over $400K for teaching one college class. Is that mentioned in her bill?

I fully expect this legislation will fail. And it should fail. Pay your own bills.
