That's how the Republicans get the rich people to pay for these things. They stop having us pay for them in taxes and allow the rich people to donate. Easy Peasy.
I figure most of these donations are publicized but not actually carry through... To get others to support something.... Like Buffett, Gates, etc who promise to donate their wealth to a tax shelter foundation instead of paying taxes on it... Oppsss... I am sure they aren't trying to evade taxes or something like that ....

In order to get a tax deduction you have to actually make a donation. If you donate $1 to get a 25 cent tax saving you are down a net 75 cents.
Charitable donations are not a way to "evade" taxes. They are a legitimate part of the tax code. It's not "evasion" if you work within the tax law.
