The bill, SB 168, requires local and state law enforcement officials and entities to honor federal “immigration detainer” requests, which ask a law enforcement agency to detain someone on probable cause that they are “removable” under federal immigration laws. It also prohibits local officials from implementing “sanctuary” policies, which had previously not been defined in state law, and gives the governor the authority to remove them if they do not comply with the law. There are no “sanctuary cities” in Florida.
Florida has sanctuary counties.

The state has a huge number of foreign agriculture workers with seasonal visas. These workers are able to bring their spouses and minor children with them. The children attend US schools and are eligible for SNAP benefits. One can see minor children working the fields with adults in the late afternoon.

Undocumented people work for less and are not eligible for welfare benefits.

All states and all cities are "sanctuary" entities per the Constitution and our laws. Some are not happy about that but there is nothing they can do so they pretend to do something.

The courts are routinely enforcing this.

Why do you think Joe Arpaio was found guilty?

While I am in favor of E-verify, it would be an easy work around for anyone with half a brain. Quite frankly you have to hold employers responsible....something we currently have the laws to do but don't seem to enforce.

Yes, he can be pardoned. One can't expect much more out of someone that hired illegals themselves. The courts found him guilty because he had absolutely no standing in enforcing immigration laws.

If you go back and read I said that Trump had the standing to curtail immigration. He has the standing to enforce our laws also but he refuses to. That makes people frustrated but they refuse to hold him accountable because he says what they want to hear. Too bad it is only words.
