Both Trump and DeSantis are correct !!!

Trump Underscores Florida Governor’s Ban on Sanctuary Cities

If an illegal alien is arrested or convicted of a crime and ICE requests custody of them, sanctuary policies prevent law enforcement from honoring the request.

DeSantis was quoted in a press release saying that the law is about “public safety, not about politics.”

The Constitution and the courts prevent them from honoring the requests.

1) I like the law.
2) I do find it funny that GOP members who talk endlessly about local control suddenly are for more federal control.

The large settlements and the threat of prison would be a reason. Argue to change the laws. You can do that. You know it isn't going to happen though.

The courts are routinely ruling that a state can not do this and the courts found Arpaio guilty.

No, he didn't change anything. No one does. Nothing ever changes. Just words, nothing more. There are thousands of illegals working in Florida, yesterday, today and tomorrow. When caught they will be released.

Sure, but they have to do it constitutionally.

"Dangerous criminals" aren't being released either. If they are a "dangerous criminal" a state has the ability to hold them.

On an individual basis, this means someone stopped for a broken headlight will be shipped back even if they had been hardworking for 15 years (I know of such cases)........

That's hypocritical. I guess what DeSantis is saying is "live in that shack dorm with no A/C on the farm and never leave it to go to Wad-Mart".

That is a ridiculous policy.
