That's hypocritical. I guess what DeSantis is saying is "live in that shack dorm with no A/C on the farm and never leave it to go to Wad-Mart".

That is a ridiculous policy.
Not likely. What will happen is if they ever see an ICE agent, they will get processed, released and go back to work. That's the way it works and nothing has been done to change that.

AND, if Americans are paying employees under the table in bulk, those employers should be sent to prison for tax fraud. Easy enough to start a task force and find some of them.

But DeSantis is too busy with PR and Labels.
Big Sugar and other industries don't pay out 100's of thousands in cash on payday. The way it typically works is as follows and I'll use an example that I am familiar with.....construction. The builder hires "subcontractors" to perform the work...they are NOT the direct employees of the builder. The owner of the subcontracting company is legal and it is he who gets paid for the job that was performed
. He then disperses cash to his employees as he sees fit. Most of these workers, are also contractors, not employees, and responsible for their own taxes....which they typically do not pay.

I am in total agreement with sending employers to prison...we just don't do it very often. Task force? As near as I can tell, neither side REALLY wants to resolve the issue, otherwise it would have been solved over the last 40 years.
