Its too bad the OP insists on turning interesting news story into partisan BS.
Hong Kong was a British colony until 1997, when they returned it back to China. Until recently China allowed Hong Kong pretty much govern themselves, but it seems they are now trying to enforce an extradition bill, which would allow people to be sent to mainland China for trial.
The protesters are destroying property, much like the antifa sometimes does, and curiously the right wingers in US celebrate it in Hong Kong, while condemning it in US.
The difference is that the protestors in China are fighting to maintain their freedom and the right to rule themselves democratically. \
Antifa is anti-liberty and seeks to intimidate people into compliance, bullying them in order to silence them and terrorize them into compliance with their fascist tactics and political vision for our country.
The contrast could not easily be any starker than it is between these two groups.
The UK government has pushed back against Chinese efforts to impose itself on the people of Hong Kong. The always prickly and insecure Chinese government has demonstrated its sense of insecurity yet again, by escalating this matter with the UK today in a rather serious manner.
On Tuesday, Mr Hunt spoke out when he said he expected China to honour the 1984 treaty that guaranteed Hong Kong citizens' rights and freedoms under a “one country, two systems” arrangement after its handover in 1997. “There will be serious consequences if that internationally binding legal agreement were not to be honoured," the Tory leadership candidate said, without specifying what those sanctions could be.
China’s ambassador says relations with the UK have been “damaged” after Jeremy Hunt threatened “serious consequences” over the crackdown on the protests in Hong Kong. The foreign secretary had been “totally wrong” to criticise events in the former UK colony, Liu Xiaoming said, adding: “This is not a matter about the freedom, it's a matter about breaking laws in Hong Kong.”
“The UK government stood on the wrong side on the issue”, Mr Liu told an extraordinary press conference in London. “It's very disappointing when the senior officials of his calibre show support of these law-breaking people.”
And, defending China’s record, the ambassador said: "We all remember what Hong Kong was 22 years ago under British rule: there was no freedom, democracy, whatever. “We all know that all governors were appointed by the British government, people had no right to elect its officials, no right to demonstrate certainly, and they did not even have a right to have an independent judicial power.”
However, Mr Hunt showed no sign of backing down in an immediate tweeted response, saying: “Message to Chinese govt: good relations between countries are based on mutual respect and honouring the legally binding agreements between them. That is the best way to preserve the great relationship between the UK and China.”
Mr Liu was also summoned to the Foreign Office “within the hour”, to be told by its permanent secretary that his comments were “unacceptable and inaccurate”.
The communist leaders of China will not tolerate any dissent. Not even by other countries. Everybody should keep that in mind.
China now claims that the Sino-British Joint Declaration on Hong Kong signed in 1984 which guarantees Hong Kong will be highly autonomous for 50 years after 1997 is voided and UK has no role in commenting on Hong Kong's affairs.
So according to China's rationale, the three Joint US-China Communique signed on 1972, 1979 and 1982 respectively should also be deemed null and void.
No wonder it never honored the agreement it signed when it joined WTO in 2000.

Can China be trusted?
The Chinese government is a bunch of megalomaniacal totalitarian thugs of the very worst order. It would be very difficult to exaggerate the atrocities that are routinely committed by these people. They are profoundly evil.
We all need to push back against this behavior, especially when it comes to speaking out and observing these atrocities in a public way. This group is poised to be the instigator of the next devastating world war, if they continue to be appeased as they have been over the last 20 years.

They reneged on their trade agreement with Trump so there is definitely a pattern. The Friendly Panda mask has been ripped off.

China is a totalitarian government with a one-sided trade policy.
I'm surprised the Demwits, at the behest of their Chinese masters, haven't sent in their black shirts to beat up the protesters
Our local leftists have probably been rooting for the commies from afar and cheering their brutal, thuggish tactics. The sure do seem pleased when their people behave like that here.
It's good to see Democratic Hong Kongers pushing back against the right-wing conservative Chinese CCP government.
Power to them!
