What is entertaining is reading the comments in the twit feed in the OPs link. Amazing how many complete dimwits are on social media and think anyone cares about their opinion.

I get why people an go overboard responding to things with Trump. I've seen it with politicians on both sides of the aisle right here on C-D. What "entertains" me is when people who have never been on either side of a professional ENG camera thinks they know what goes on during video shoots. Think people understand video and audio? Spend fifteen minutes on YouTube or Facebook and that should clear thinks up a little.
I don't find it bizarre to be honest. Workplaces all over the country are saying if you are sick, stay home. I once got sent home from work for coughing. My boss said she'd rathr have one person out sick that day than ten over the net week. Trump is 73 now, I believe, and should be rightly concerned for his health.
Also, he asked to do the question over according to the transcript. Trump says he hates the media (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) but he's been in the media and around the media long enough to know that the muffled sound of a man coughing sounds bad. Everyone from George S. to the photographers in the room were happy when (I guess Mulvaney actually did leave) Coughing Man left the room

The TV crew there was probaby tankful Trump suggested a do over. The reaction of Stephanopoulos certainly implies he was not upset Trump did that.
I do not know any member of the media that I worked with (localy, not nationally) that would have had a problem with that. Many may have even suggested it themselves. Others would simply come back and ask the question again later if that had been the only time Mulvaney coughed. I worked with two man crews. Sometimes it was just me. Mind you I have never interviewed or photographed interviews with the president (some presidential candidates though) but I have with two governors and two former governors of South Carolina. I would have asked for a do over myself if they or my reporter when I had one didn't.

Joe, I was as a videotape editor (for several local news stations) for many years; I worked in a top-20 market once. It’s what I went to school for, actually. I’m not ignorant about television production and audio quality.
Thing is, dude’s reaction is a tad bizarre. His anger over the cough, and his kicking out Mulvaney seem a bit more than necessary.
YMMV, and that’s OK. It’s just a tad odd to me...and to others, apparently.
Oh, and regarding Stephanopoulos’s reaction, he kept a straight face through every bit of ridiculousness that came from Trump’s mouth during the length of the interview...and there’s been lots to react to! Stephanopoulos is a true professional. Kudos to him.

Also, Cough-Gate was just shown/discussed on CNN, and I think they know a little something about television production. They also thought it a bizarre display.
Cough-Gate shows Trump’s narcissism, his poor temper, and his general weirdness.
I am glad he did. I wouldn’t want anyone around me who is hacking and gasping.
